As part of our retained work for the bookshop brand, we were tasked with generating media coverage supporting the discovery of the map and within three days the Astute team achieved features in The Times and on the online versions of The Guardian, BBC and TIME in addition to MailOnline, Huffington Post, BBC Radio Five Live and ITV Meridian.

In total, over 85 pieces of coverage were placed in titles across the globe based as far afield as the US, India, Canada and Australia.

The Guardian online piece became the most-read story on the website across a 24-hour period achieving over 650,000 views (around 35% based in the UK), being visited by around 200 people a minute at its peak. On social media, the story was shared by over 100,000 users on Twitter alone – including star of the Lord of The Rings film trilogy, Sir Ian McKellen.
